Elsa och Nils
A short account
We met at a kräftskiva in 2018 where neither of us knew the host. Elsa was there for the crayfish. Nils was there because someone told him there would be crayfish. It was a small misunderstanding that has now lasted nine years.
We are getting married on the island where Elsa's grandparents were married, in the week when the light does not leave.
Vigsel
Ceremony on the point at Grinda, under the flagpole. Ten minutes, no readings, one very short song.
Mingel
Sparkling wine and västerbottenpaj on the jetty while the photographer does her worst.
Middag
Dinner in the old inn. Toastmasters will be strict; speeches are capped at four minutes and they mean it.
Dans
Back to the jetty. Midsummer light means it never truly goes dark, so there is no excuse to leave early.
Getting to Grinda
Waxholmsbolaget departs Strandvägen at 11.30 and takes just under two hours. It is the nicest part of the day and we would like everyone on the same boat. The last ferry back leaves at 01.15; after that, you are staying.
Cabins on the island are limited and already spoken for, but the inn holds rooms and there is a good hostel ten minutes from the jetty.
Two requests
Shoes. The ceremony is on grass and the path down is loose gravel. Heels will not survive it and neither will you.
Gifts. Please, nothing. If you would like to do something anyway, we are collecting for Håll Sverige Rent.
